Termination of app service: Back-in-stock Notifications

Thank you for using the Back-in-stock Notifications app.


We would like to inform you that the app will no longer be in service as of January 20, 2025.

Don’t worry, its features will remain available in your admin menus after the termination.

Once the app is terminated:
  • The Notify button that you added using the app will no longer appear on your store’s product details pages.
  • You can access your existing app settings and notification request data under Products>Back-in-stock notifications.
  • The app features will remain accessible through your admin menus.

1. What happens when the app is terminated?


Once the app is terminated, you will no longer be able to access it and the Notify button you added using the app will no longer appear on your product details pages.

Also, back-in-stock notifications will not be sent, even when out-of-stock products become available again.


2. When will the Notify button be displayed again?


If your app data has been successfully migrated and our theme editing guide has been correctly applied to your store theme, the back-in-stock notifications features will be automatically reactivated, and the Notify button will reappear on your product details pages.


For some themes, including paid ones, you may need to make some adjustments to the source code.



3. How does the data migration work? Do I need to do anything on my end?


No, if your store is eligible for the Back-in-stock Notifications app data migration, your data will be automatically migrated when you access the Products menu.


Stores with the following settings are eligible for app data migration: 

Button display status is set to Do not display in Products>Back-in-stock notifications>Settings.

The Back-in-stock Notifications app is enabled.


Go to Products>Back-in-stock notifications to check if your data from the following app menus has been successfully migrated:

[App] Settings>General settings

[App] Notification requests>Search results (data from the past 1 year)



4. What should I do if I want to keep the notification request data older than 1 year?


Before the app is terminated, go to the app and click Export to download your notification request data as an Excel file.

If you set the download period too long, the app speed may slow down. We recommend setting the date range to 1 year or less when downloading your data.



5. Will my app data be migrated as it is?


Your app data will be fully migrated except in the following cases:


Notification request data:

Requests from customers who have deleted their accounts

Requests made for products or variants that have been edited or deleted


Settings data:

[App] Settings>General settings>Auto-send notifications>Auto-send time: This data will not be migrated.

[App] Settings>General settings>Auto-send notifications>Do not auto-send after: This data will be migrated with a default value of 6 months.

2. What’s the difference between these menus and the app?


The only difference is in the design and pop-up settings of the Notify button, which were specific to the app
